DR. JOCELYNN JACOBS, DVM, CVC, BSC

Dr. Jocelynn Jacobs is a graduate of Michigan State University’s College of Veterinary Medicine. She has been practicing small animal medicine and surgery in the Midland area since 1991. In 2014 Dr. Jacobs was accepted into the Veterinary Chiropractic program at the Veterinary Chiropractic Learning Center in Ontario, Canada. She graduated with her Certification in Veterinary Chiropractic in 2015.

Dr. Jacobs’ areas of interest and expertise include soft tissue surgery, canine reproduction, pediatrics, lameness evaluation, and back/neck pain and issues (thus her certification in veterinary chiropractics).

Dr. Jacobs is very well known for her expertise in canine reproduction and performance dog issues. She is one of the very few reproductive veterinarians in the United States who also has a history of being a breeder, musher and dog trainer. She has finished over 25 AKC champions (owner handled) and obtained some obedience titles as well. In her breed, Alaskan Malamutes, she owner-handled two of her dogs to AMCA National specialty wins (Best of Breed and Best of Opposite Sex) as well as won dozens of specialty and sweepstakes wins. Dr. Jacobs also finished her requirements as an AKC conformation judge in 2009 and has judged multiple breeds at dog shows over the years.

Additionally, Dr. Jacobs has expertise in small animal nutrition. She wrote Performance Dog Nutrition (the first nutrition book of its kind) in 2005 which won the Maxwell Award in New York City.

Dr. Jacobs shares her life with her family and with many animals on her organic farm: dogs, horses, Nigerian goats, sheep, chickens and a fish. She enjoys running 10K races and half marathons to keep in shape so she can handle all your pets’ needs at the clinic.
